Cartersville volleyball earns non-region split

Cartersville volleyball lost a three-set match at Murray County Tuesday, but responded with a straight sets win over Rockmart in their nightcap. The Canes won the opening set with Murray County before the Indians rallied for 25-16 and 15-10 wins in the final two sets. Cartersville then beat Rockmart 25-12 and 25-7. In the loss to Murray County, Mason Cline finished with six kills, one block, and one dig. London Moultrie had seven kills and two digs. Mia Nicklas totaled four kills and seven digs. Vanessa Johnson contributed three blocks and Layne Condra added 12 digs. In the win over Rockmart, Ailee England had five kills, three aces, and one assist. Moultrie finished with five kills and one block. Macey Vaughn contributed ten assists, two aces, and one dig. Emma Cagle, Condra, and Nicklas added three digs each. Cartersville (14-9, 2-0) hosts Northwest Whitfield Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and will square off against Paulding County, Cedartown, and Villa Rica Saturday in the Rockmart Invitational.
