Cartersville volleyball nets five set win over Etowah
Cartersville volleyball outlasted Etowah in five sets Thursday night, 26-24, 13-25, 14-25, 25-20, and 15-10.
“We were a little sloppy at the beginning but got it together and fought to win,” said Canes’ head coach Alicen Pearson. “Lauren Lawson and Ailee England led our offense and Mia Nicklas and Grace Merritt led our defense. London Moultrie played strong and smart which helped us in a lot of side outs.” Lawson finished with 13 kills. England and Moultrie had eight kills each. Tennessee Abernathy contributed five blocks. Lily Gochee totaled 27 assists.
Cartersville improved to 20-9 on the season. Etowah falls to 17-13.
