Cartersville volleyball sweeps at Villa Rica
Cartersville volleyball made easy work Thursday night in a straight sets victory at Villa Rica.
The Canes won all three sets in a scheduled best-of-five match 25-8, 25-13, and 25-19.
The regular season rematch, which saw Cartersville win earlier in the year, was also a rematch of the 2020 Class AAAAA state tournament first round.
Lauren Lawson led the Cartersville offense, compiling 13 kills in the match. Ailee England added seven kills, seven digs and two aces. Mason Cline chipped in with five kills, while London Moultrie and Tennessee Abernathy wound up with four apiece.
Abby Allen paced the Canes with six aces. Lily Gochee put forth a well-round effort, finishing with 27 assists, six digs, four aces and two kills.
