Cartersville wrestlers fourth at Warrior Classic

The Cartersville High School wrestling team earned a fourth place finish Saturday at the 15-team North Atlanta Warrior Classic in the Paces neighborhood.

Sonoraville won the event with 193.5 points followed by Lumpkin County and Lovett. Putnam County placed fifth, more than 50 points behind the Canes.

Cartersville had four individual champions and four others to place in the top four of their respective weight divisions.

Eaiden Neal (113), Talan Nix (132), Giles Turner (138), and Jackson Latimer (145) each won their brackets. Grant Adams (106) was a tournament runner-up. Houston Knott (170) placed third while Grey Williams (126) and Jamie Altuzar (220) both finished fourth.

The Canes return to the mats Thursday in Rome against Armuchee and Trion before traveling to Chattanooga for the McCallie Classic Friday and Saturday.
