Cartersville XC teams compete in Carrollton

The Cartersville girls and boys cross country teams each placed 20th in the Championship Division of the 2026 Carrollton OrthoWest Invitational this past Saturday.

Harrison won the girls’ team race, with Marietta, Creekview, Oconee County, and Westminster rounding out the top five of 22 teams. Kylie Ham (89th, 23:18) led the Lady Canes, followed by Kyla Poole (132nd, 24:54), Ella Daniell (141st, 25:19), Jordan Hathaway (151st, 25:30), and Genevieve Alessandro (161st, 26:08). Sydney Burris (74th, 25:53) competed in the Girls Class 5A-7A Division.

Host Carrollton won the boys’ Championship Division, followed by Harrison, Marietta, North Paulding, and Westminster in the 27-team race. 

The Canes were led by Carson Robinson (53rd, 18:15), followed by Tripp Chitwood (99th, 19:17), Knox Matthews (122nd, 19:34), Brock Morris (141st, 20:02), and Adynn Phillips (147th, 20:06)

Cartersville hosts the Wingfoot XC Classic on Saturday at Sam Smith Park.
