Cass boys snap skid with win at Douglas County; Woodland teams fall at Bremen


The Cass boys basketball team snapped a four game losing streak Friday night with a 64-61 non-region win at Douglas County.


Izayah Porter of Douglas County scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Tigers. Jelani Hames and Jayden Foster of Cass scored 16 points each.

The Colonels improved to 3-4 with their win. Douglas County remains winless at 0-6.

Cass plays Paideia Saturday at 3 p.m. on a neutral floor at Tri-Cities High School.



BREMEN 46, WOODLAND GIRLS 40

The Lady Cats trailed 25-14 at halftime and failed to make up the difference in the second half Friday night in a 46-40 non-region loss at Bremen.

Alli Augustin led the host Blue Devils (6-2) with 16 points.

Abigail Taylor scored 22 and Megan Schultz added 10 points for Woodland.

Next for the Lady Cats (1-7) is a first round game against Chattooga Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Rome Holiday Tournament.


BREMEN 66, WOODLAND BOYS 58

The Woodland boys slipped to 3-3 on the season while Bremen improved to 2-3 as the Blue Devils topped the visiting Wildcats Friday night 66-58.

The Wildcats host Pepperell Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
