Cass boys soccer wins region opener over Calhoun

The Cass boys soccer team won its third in a row Tuesday night and opened Region 7-AAAAA play with a 2-0 home victory over Calhoun. Kaleb Speights and Braxton Benham scored the Cass goals as the Colonels improved to 4-3 on the season and 1-0 in region action. The loss drops Calhoun to 3-4-2 and 0-1 in the region.

Magno Moreno assisted on the Speights goal while Speights had the helper on the Benham score.

Up next for the Cass boys is a non-region matchup with Class 7A North Paulding Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Cochran Stadium.
