Cass soccer teams prep for state playoffs with regular season finale' wins at Kell

The Cass girls and boys soccer teams wrapped up regular season play Thursday night with a pair of road victories at Kell in Marietta.

The Lady Colonels won 4-1 in the non-region contest and the Cass boys pulled out a 1-0 victory over the Longhorns.

The Cass girls completed their regular season with a 7-10 record and will be the No. 4-seed from Region 7-AAAAA in next week’s first round of the state playoffs. The Lady Colonels will travel to play top-seeded Grady from Region 6-AAAAA.

Magno Moreno scored the only goal in Thursday night’s win for the Colonels at Kell. Omar Garcia assisted on the score.

The Cass boys finished the regular season with an 11-6 record, their first winning mark in over a decade. The Colonels are the 3-seed and will play at second-seeded Grady next Wednesday in the playoffs.
