Cass swim team second at five-team meet

The Cass swim team finished second in combined scores on Tuesday as the Colonels hosted a five-team meet at the Adairsville pool.

Pickens won the combined scores competition with 218 points. Cass was runner-up with 187, followed by Model (133), Armuchee (28), and Pepperell (6).

The Cass girls had the best total with 116, followed by Model (77), Pickens (61), and Armuchee (28).

Pickens (157) won the boys’ competition, followed by Cass (71), Model (56), and Pepperell (6).

Event winners for Cass:

— Girls 200-yard medley relay — Krishma Acharya, Carson Brannon, Anniston Duckett, Adyson Doolittle — 2:20.88

— Krishma Acharya — 100-yard backstroke — 1:18.38

The next meet for Cass will be on Tuesday against Cartersville at the Adairsville facility.
