Cass wrestling takes down Murray County, East Paulding

The Cass High School wrestling team defeated both Murray County and East Paulding Wednesday in a home match tune-up prior to this weekend’s Region 7-AAAAA Duals Championship. The event also served as a celebration of the Cass senior team members. The Colonels beat Murray County 57-6 and topped East Paulding 59-7. In the victory over Murray County, Tyler McKnight (126 pounds), Zach McKnight (152), Cameran Hill (160), and William Buttram (195) pinned their opponents. Alex Depasquale (170) won by major decision and Sean Whatley (285) won by minor decision. The remainder of the Colonels’ points came by forfeit.

Against East Paulding, Eli Doolittle (113), Tyler McKnight (126), Adam Urizar (145), Zach McKnight (152), Cameran Hill (160), Alex Depasquale (182), and Sean Whatley (220) won by pin. Bryce Kresho (120) won by disqualification from penalty points and Reed Davis (195) won by technical fall for Cass.

The Region 7-AAAAA Duals Championship is this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at Paulding County High School.
