Cass wrestling wins Papa Wayne Duals

The Cass wrestling team swept to a first-place finish Saturday afternoon at the Hiram High School Papa Wayne Duals.

The Colonels finished the day with a 4-0 record, winning over Jonesboro (66-9), Hiram (60-18), Kennesaw Mountain (59-12), and Callaway in the finals (78-0).

“We had a great weekend,” said Cass head coach Derston Koontz. “We were able to get a lot of different guys in action.”

The lone female wrestler at Cass, Irelynn Wilmot, competed for the first time this weekend and finished 1-1.

Cass returns to action on Friday and Saturday at Creekview High School.
