Chargers’ first baseman Barrett Eldridge had three hits including a double, a home run, and five RBIs Thursday to help lead Georgia Highlands to a 12-2 home conference win over East Georgia.

On the mound, Michael Sharman earned his eighth pitching win of the season with a six-inning start. Sharman gave up just two earned runs on three hits with no walks while striking out eight. Both East Georgia runs were solo home runs.

Oliver Wood retired the final three outs in the seventh inning.

Three Chargers produced two hits — Ali Banks (RBI), Gray Wilson (RBI), and Luke Orfi.

The loss dropped East Georgia to 29-23 overall and 7-15 in the conference.

Georgia Highlands (45-7, 17-5) can clinch the top-seed in the GCAA playoffs with a home win over Gordon State College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
