Chargers eliminated by top-ranked Walters State in Appalachian District series

The Georgia Highlands College baseball team had its postseason run come to a close on Thursday with a second straight loss to Walters State in the NJCAA Appalachian District series.
The Senators captured the best-of-three series and berth in the NJCAA World Series with an 11-1 win on Wednesday and a 6-5 victory on Thursday.
In Thursday's loss, the Chargers hit five solo home runs, including two by Kenskey Thomas. However, the Senators withstood the long ball barrage, outhitting GHC 12 to 7.
Grayson Godbee, Ryan Martin, and Andrew Bishop also had home runs for Georgia Highlands.
Walters State (55-6-1) is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA and extended its winning streak to 21 games.
The season ended for Georgia Highlands with a second consecutive conference championship and a 45-12 record.
