Chargers even series with Highlanders

The Georgia Highlands offense started early and scored often on Thursday en route to a 14-1 conference win at Gordon College.

The win evened the series at one game each.

Michael Sharman (7 IP, 1ER, 8H, 1BB, 4K) worked a complete game on the mound and collected the pitching win for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, the GHC offense erupted with eighteen hits including four doubles and four homers.

Luke Orfi led the way with four hits including two doubles and two RBIs. Grayson Godbee had three hits including two home runs and four RBIs. Ryan Wideman also had three hits including a double and one RBI. 

CJ Blackwell (solo home run), Gray Wilson, and Will Cawthon (RBI) finished with two hits. Davis Newman (HR, three RBIs) and Clay Wiesen (double, two RBIs)

Georgia Highlands (34-6, 6-4) and the Highlanders (22-14, 8-2) will complete their conference series with a doubleheader in Barnesville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
