Chargers improve to 3-0 in conference play

The GHC Chargers swept a home conference doubleheader with Andrew College on Saturday, defeating the Tigers 11-3 and 12-9.
Jack Burns retired the final seven outs on the mound in Game 1 to pick up the pitching win in relief of starter Noah McMahon (4.1 IP, 3ER, 4H, 2BB, 6K) and Jackson Scali (0.1 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 1K).
Heath Whitlock (3 IP, 0R, 1H, 3K) faced the minimum over the final three innings to earn the pitching win in the second game. Kaiden Krak (2.1 IP, 6ER, 5H, 1BB, 3K), Reed Thursby (0.2 IP, 2ER, 2H, 1K), Marshall Flowers (1 IP, 0R, 1H), and Braxton Wade (0.0 IP, 1ER, 2H) also pitched for Georgia Highlands.
Cartersville High product, Aidan Larkin, led the Chargers’ bats with four hits in the doubleheader that included two homers and four RBI. Andrew Bishop (home run, sac fly, four RBI), Caden Marcos (two doubles, three RBI), Mason Moore (double, three RBI), Harper Davenport (triple, double, RBI), and Carson Page (double, RBI) each produced three hits on the day.
Andrew College slipped to 10-14 overall and 1-3 in conference action.
Georgia Highlands (23-7, 3-0 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association) hosts Gordon State College for a doubleheader on Tuesday and East Georgia College for two games on Saturday.
