Chargers keep rolling, win tenth straight

Georgia Highlands baseball swept a four-game series this past Friday and Saturday with visiting Lincoln Trail College (Illinois) and improved to 10-0 on the season.


The Chargers won 4-2 and 3-2 on Friday and collected a pair of 11-1 wins on Saturday.


GHC pitchers Hunter Ward and Brodie Chestnut picked up wins in relief performances on Friday. Michael Sharman went six innings and allowed just one earned run on seven hits and one walk to win Saturday’s first game. Trip Dovale collected his second pitching win in the second game allowing no earned runs across four innings with eight strikeouts.


Luke Orfi had eight hits in the series including a double and three RBIs. Ali Banks followed with seven hits in the series including one home run, one double, and five RBIs. Ryan Wideman finished the series with five hits including a homer, two doubles, and four RBIs.


Grayson Godbee (two RBIs), Will Cawthon (one RBI), and Davis Newman (homer, double, three RBIs) had four hits in the series.


The Chargers (10-0) play a doubleheader at Walters State CC on Friday and will host Walters State for two games on Sunday.
