Chargers sweep Andrew extending win streak to twelve
After winning their GCAA conference opener over Andrew College last Tuesday at LakePoint, Georgia Highlands baseball swept a weekend three-game series in Cuthbert for a four-game sweep over the Tigers. The sweep also extends the Chargers' current win streak to a dozen games.
In three games Friday and Saturday, Georgia Highlands outscored Andrew 35-7.
GHC won 11-5 Friday and swept Saturday’s doubleheader 4-1 and 20-1.
Conner Todaro finished the three game set with eight hits including a home run, a triple, a double, a sac fly, and six RBIs. Caden Smith followed with five hits including three home runs, a double, and four RBIs. Max Kops also had five hits in the three games including a home run and two RBIs.
David Smith and Zayd Brannigan contributed four hits each in the weekend series. They both homered and both finished the series with five RBIs.
Gage Valles (5.2 IP, 3ER, 9H, 1BB, 4K) picked up the pitching win Friday. Conner Perry (7 IP, 1ER, 8H, 1BB, 7K) collected a win on Saturday as did Eric Moore (7 IP, 1ER, 7H, 1BB, 7K).
The Chargers (28-2, 4-0) will host East Georgia College Tuesday in Rome to open their next GCAA conference series. The final three games move to Swainsboro Friday and Saturday.
