Chargers take road win at Chattahoochee Valley

Georgia Highlands started the season with 16 straight wins before dropping two games February 25-26 to Wabash Valley College. Since then, the Chargers have reeled off four straight wins including Sunday’s 4-2 win at Chattahoochee Valley.

Three GHC pitchers — Gage Vailes, Eric Moore, and Conner Perry — combined to scatter five Pirates’ hits and struck out ten in the road victory. The only Chattahoochee Valley runs came in the second inning off a two-run home run by Brayden Pelkey.

Parker Poteet had three hits for the Chargers and Conner Todaro had two hits including a solo home run in the seventh inning to pace the Georgia Highlands offense. Zayd Brannigan (double, RBI), Mick Moody (RBI), David Smith, and Ben Olson added one hit each.

Chattahoochee Valley falls to 6-11 on the season with the loss.

Georgia Highlands (20-2) travels to USC Salkehatchie for a Tuesday doubleheader and will host a three-game series with Macomb CC (Michigan) Sunday and Monday.
