Chargers win Saturday doubleheader

The 6th-ranked Georgia Highlands College baseball team won a pair of home games Saturday over USC Lancaster. The Chargers won 13-1 and 9-3.
Starting pitchers Trip Dovale and Michael Sharman picked up wins on the mound.
Dovale, now 6-0, scattered three hits with no walks in four shutout innings. He struck out four. Landen Loyd (1 IP, 1ER, 1H, 1BB, 1K) closed out the final inning of Game 1.
Sharman went six innings and struck out ten while improving to 4-1. He allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk. Trace Home retired all three batters he faced in the seventh inning with one strikeout.
Ryan Wideman had five hits on the day including a home run, two doubles, and four RBIs. Grayson Godbee finished with four hits including one homer, two doubles, and four RBIs. Luke Orfi followed with three hits including two home runs and four RBIs. Will Cawthon (two doubles, RBI) and Davis Newman (three doubles, three RBIs) also produced three hits in the doubleheader.
Georgia Highlands (24-2) hosts the Lancers (16-7) for two more games on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
