Cartersville resident and amateur golfer, R.B. Clyburn, tied for eleventh this past weekend at the Georgia PGA Golf Pro Payments Georgia Open hosted by Dalton Country Club.
Clyburn held the tournament lead at its midway point after opening with rounds of 66 and 69 on the 6,900-yard, par-71 layout. He finished with a 74 and a 70, but the final round was played on just 17 holes due to unplayable conditions on Hole No. 4 in Dalton on Sunday. His 71-hole total was an even par 279.
Amateur Nate Gahman of Albany shot 9-under par to win the 2025 Georgia Open title by two shots over professional Anthony Maccaglia of Duluth. Professional Ruan Pretorius of Augusta and amateur Dalton Burts of Peachtree Corners tied for third place with 6-under-par totals.
Jake Wehunt, Chanc Willis, and Dalton Henson of Cartersville missed the 36-hole cut.
