Coker, Tigers blank Generals to even series

Adairsville starting pitcher Kaden Coker tossed a complete-game gem Wednesday evening, leading the Tigers to a 1-0 home win over Heritage-Catoosa.
Coker scattered three hits and two walks across seven innings of work to shut out the Generals. He struck out 13 of the 26 batters he faced.
Heritage, who won the first game of the three-game Region 7-AAA series 6-2 on Tuesday, received strong pitching performances from two hurlers. Adairsville’s lone run was unearned in the fourth inning, scoring on a pair of infield errors by the Generals.
Matthew Cook had two hits for the Tigers, including one double. Brody Varner, Hudson Parr (double), Hayden Miller, and McCayden Hufstetler each added one hit in the win.
Heritage (12-7, 6-2) will host Adairsville (16-5, 8-3) in the series finale on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
