Colonels end season with a sweep at Hiram

The Cass Colonels finished their 2026 campaign Friday night with a doubleheader sweep at Hiram, winning 11-0 and 14-12. Friday’s wins wrapped up a three-game series sweep during the week by Cass.
Dustin Wallin tossed a five-inning, one-hitter in the opening victory, and the Colonels built a 12-1 lead in Game 2 before holding on in the late innings to secure the sweep.
Wallin struck out eight and walked two in the shutout. Andrew Ray (1.2 IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 1BB, 2K) was credited with the pitching win in the second game in relief of starter Easton Lee (3.1 IP, 6R, 5ER, 7H, 1BB, 5K). Noah Rogers (2 IP, 5R, 2ER, 1H, 3BB, 2K) pitched the final two innings for Cass.
Noah Rogers led the Colonels’ offense with four hits, including one double and four RBI in the doubleheader. Kasey Jacobs followed with three hits and two RBI.
Landon Lamb (sac fly, three RBI), Aidan Castaneda (three RBI), DJ Vigil (sac fly, two RBI), and Wallin (double, RBI) each finished the night with two hits.
Zach Stiles (double, three RBI), Landon Farmer (sac fly, two RBI), and Maddox Koontz (double, two RBI) added one hit apiece.
The Hornets finished the season 9-22 overall and 2-19 in Region 7-AAAA. Cass concluded the year with an 11-19 record. The Colonels were 8-13 in region games.
