In a game that saw multiple lead changes and ties, the Cass Colonels escaped with a non-region two-point win Saturday afternoon at North Cobb.
The Warriors held leads of 12-9 and 21-18 at the end of the first two periods but Cass surged ahead in the third quarter to hold a 34-31 advantage. The Colonels then held on in the final period for a 47-45 victory.
“We’re just happy to get a road win out of the region,” said Cass coach Kevin Cunningham following the Colonels’ third straight win. “That game was basically tied the whole way. We knocked down some big free throws there at the end. Now we will take a day off, practice on Monday, and get ready to play Cartersville on Tuesday.”
