Colonels' playoff run ends with state semifinal loss in OT to Decatur

The Cass boys’ soccer team's state playoff run ended Friday night at Cochran Stadium with a 2-1 overtime loss to the Decatur Bulldogs.
Decatur scored early in the first half on a penalty kick and carried that lead deep into the second half.
Cass’ Camden Hillhouse scored an equalizer in the 65th minute unassisted and the contest went to overtime knotted 1-1.
The Bulldogs (15-5-3) got their go-ahead goal in the first overtime and the Colonels could not match the goal.
Decatur advances to the GHSA Class 5A championship match on Tuesday night at Duluth High School to face the McIntosh / Midtown winner.
Cass has its season end with a 15-4-1 mark.
