The Cass Colonels secured a 4-2 victory in the opening game of a three-game series against Woodland on Tuesday evening at the Wildcats' home field.

The game was dominated by pitching, as both teams' lineups were limited to just two hits each.

Cass took advantage of three walks to score three runs in the top of the third inning, but Woodland answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame after also drawing three walks.  The Colonels added one more run in the top of the sixth on a hit batter and two Woodland errors for the 4-2 final score.

Andrew Ray (3.1 IP, 2ER, 1H, 3BB, 2K) earned the pitching victory for Cass, while Easton Lee (3.2 IP, 0R, 1H, 0BB, 1K) collected a save.

Alfredo Romo (3 IP, 3ER, 1H, 5BB, 2K) was saddled with the pitching loss for Woodland. Tucker James (3 IP, 1R, 0ER, 1H, 1BB, 2K) and Logan Smith (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 2BB) pitched in relief for the Wildcats.

Landon Lamb and Zach Stiles had the Cass base hits. Preston Sorrells and Logan Smith had hits for Woodland. Jonathan Ryan and Jacob Tatum were each credited with one RBI for the Wildcats.

Cass (8-17, 5-11) will host Woodland (11-13, 6-10) for a doubleheader on Thursday.
