Eagles blast Cornerstone to snap skid

The Excel Christian Academy baseball team outhit Cornerstone Prep fifteen to four Friday night and Gavin Dyson struck out thirteen on the mound as the Eagles defeated the Cougars, 15-1.
David Jinks had three hits including a double, a triple, and three RBIs for the Excel offense. Jacob Jinks finished with three hits including a double and three RBIs and Carter May also contributed three hits.
Kamarion Profit contributed two hits with one RBI. Dyson (double, two RBIs), McKaden Gentry (two RBIs), Kohl Williams (two RBIs) and Jayden Jinks added one hit.
Dyson pitched all six innings for the Eagles. He scattered four hits and one walk while allowing one earned run.
The loss dropped Cornerstone to 4-4 on the season.
Excel (3-5, 2-2 GAPPS I-A Region 1) snapped a five-game skid. The Eagles are scheduled to play at Holy Ground Baptist on Monday and at CrossPointe Christian on Tuesday.
