Excel Christian Academy boys garner second region win

The Excel Christian Academy boys earned a region win Thursday night in Chickamauga at Oakwood Christian Academy, 80-55.

Excel led 21-15 at the end of the opening quarter and added to their lead throughout the evening. The Eagles led 41-28 at halftime and 61-38 through three quarters en route to a 25-point win.

Carter May led ECA with 18 points. King Eleazer followed with 13 and Christian Vieira scored 12 points. Gavin Dyson totaled eight points. Jayden Jinks and David Jinks finished with seven each. Hugo Jara added three points in the victory.

Graham Moore led Oakwood (4-12, 0-2) with 17 points. Ryan Phillips finished with 13.

The Excel boys (3-13, 2-0 GAPPS Region 1, I-A) host Whitefield Academy on Saturday at 5 p.m.
