Excel Christian Academy completed a two-game, regular season sweep of Cornerstone Prep Academy Saturday evening in Acworth with a 50-47 road win.

The Eagles trailed 47-43 when Jakaden Barkley knocked down a three-point shot with nine seconds remaining. A deflected inbound pass resulted in a held ball and an Excel possession with just 0:06 left in regulation. Excel’s Elijah Payne received a pass in the lane and scored to give the Eagles the lead before an ensuing Cornerstone turnover put the host Cougars in a fouling situation. Payne sealed the victory for Excel at the free throw line.
