Five-run fourth ignites Lady Tigers' win at Coahulla Creek

The Adairsville Lady Tigers scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning on Tuesday to break a tie and secure an 8-3 victory at Coahulla Creek. Three extra-base hits by Lily Brookshire, Chloe Hill, and Ashlynn Durden in the inning fueled the rally.

Meanwhile, pitchers Paislee Rooks and Hill limited the Colts’ production. Rooks allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk. Hill worked four scoreless frames and yielded only one hit and two walks. Rooks recorded two strikeouts; Hill had three.

With four hits, including two doubles, a triple, and two RBI, Hill led the Tigers’ offense. Durden followed with two hits, including a double and three RBI. Brookshire (triple, RBI) and Rooks (RBI) each added one hit. Heidi Rickett contributed one RBI.

The loss dropped Coahulla Creek to 5-10.

Adairsville (12-6, 6-2 Region 7-4A) plays another non-region game on Wednesday at Walker in Marietta at 5 p.m. and returns to region action on Thursday at home against Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m.
