Following appeals, GHSA's initial geographic regions for Class 4A are released

Following appeals heard by the Georgia High School Association's reclassification committee on Thursday, the organization has released its preliminary placement of schools into new regions in Class 4A for the 2024-26 cycle.

Schools will have an opportunity to appeal for lateral movement before these become final.

Dalton and Allatoona were originally assigned to Class AAAAA but won appeals on Thursday to be moved down to Class AAAA. Those schools were then assigned to a new Region 7-AAAA that will also include Cartersville, Cass, Cedartown, Hiram, Southeast Whitfield, and Woodland.
