GHC softball drops doubleheader

Georgia Highlands softball slipped to 1-11 on the season last Tuesday with a home doubleheader loss to Walters State CC, 8-0 and 11-1.

Lady Senators pitcher Tori Coffman stole the show in Game 1 tossing a five-inning no-hitter to blank the Chargers. She fanned six and missed a perfect game by issuing one walk. The Senators also committed one error.

In Game 2, Walters State scored two runs or more in four of their five offensive frames and hit a pair of home runs in their 10-run win.

Audrey Johnson homered for the Chargers' only run. Madison Dennis and Abigail Lathrop added one hit apiece.

Georgia Highlands plays a doubleheader at Cleveland State CC Tuesday and visits Motlow State CC Friday for two more games.
