GHC softball drops the series opener with Florence-Darlington Tech




Georgia Highlands softball lost 9-4 Friday in the first game of their series with Florence-Darlington Tech. 


The visiting Stingers posted four runs in the second and fourth innings to build an 8-2 lead and outhit the Chargers nine to seven.


Natalie Spiva and Larissa Siders combined for five hits and three RBIs to lead the Florence-Darlington Tech offense. 


Hayden Joyner had three hits including a double and two RBIs for the Lady Chargers. Haylee Dishmon, Avery Fisher (triple), Ally Graden (double), and Raegan Ford added one hit each.


Grace Kendrick (7 IP, 9R, 5ER, 11H, 2BB, 3K) suffered the pitching loss.


Georgia Highlands (2-1) has a doubleheader on Saturday with the Stingers.
