GHC softball falls in conference DH with GMC
Georgia Highlands College softball dropped a conference doubleheader at home Tuesday to Georgia Military College falling 10-1 and 8-7.
Hailey Cronic finished the doubleheader with four hits including a double and a second game home run. Annsley Todd followed with three hits and one RBI.
Madison Dennis had two hits and two RBIs including a solo home run in the opening game of the doubleheader. Allison Deweese had two hits including a home run and two RBIs. Haley Overton also contributed a pair of hits for the Chargers. Audrey Johnson (double), Kyndal Brown (RBI), and Bradey Tharp added one hit each.
Gracee Ellis (4 IP, 7R, 4ER, 7H, 1BB, 1K) was tagged with the pitching loss in the opening game. Katie Traynor (1 IP, 3R, 0ER, 3H, 1BB) also pitched.
Haley Robinson (3 IP, 2ER, 2H, 1BB, 1K) suffered the second game pitching loss for the Chargers. Maggie Schandera (1.1 IP, 5ER, 3H, 4BB) and Emma Veitch (2.2 IP, 1ER, 1H) also worked in the circle.
Georgia Military improved to 24-18 overall and 5-7 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
Georgia Highlands (10-28, 3-9) will seek to snap a six game losing skid Saturday in a home doubleheader against South Georgia CC.
