GHC softball sweeps a doubleheader at East Georgia State

The Georgia Highlands softball team swept a doubleheader at East Georgia State Tuesday winning the first game 5-3 and the second game 7-6.


Grace Kendrick tossed a seven-inning complete game in the opening victory. She allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five.


Hayden Joyner was the Game 2 winning pitcher. She went 3-⅔ innings in the circle allowing five earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Joyner struck out one. Jaycie Hand pitched 3-⅓ innings in relief. Hand allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks with one strikeout.


Avrey Fisher and Haylee Dishmon had four hits in the doubleheader. Fisher’s hits included a double and two RBIs. Dishmon also had one RBI.


Chloe Fowler (double, three RBIs), Cayden Warren (double, three RBIs), and Ally Graden contributed three hits on the day. Hannah Mounce finished with two hits. Aliza Martinez (RBI), Joyner (sac fly, RBI), and Hand added one hit. Kendrick had one RBI.


The losses dropped East Georgia State to 8-20 overall and 5-7 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
