Georgia Highlands College softball swept a conference doubleheader at Andrew College on Saturday, winning 13-0 and 20-2.
Haley Curtis tossed a three-hit shutout in Game 1. She allowed only one walk and struck out four in the five-inning win. CeCe Williams was the Chargers’ winning pitcher in the second game, allowing only two unearned runs on three hits and four walks. Williams fanned two.
Mary Catherine Kimball (two doubles, three RBI) and Williams (home run, triple, double, sac fly, four RBI) led the GHC offense in the doubleheader with five hits each. Jordan Walberg followed with four hits and one RBI. Emma Darrow (two doubles, triple, two RBI), Maci Andrews (two doubles, one RBI), and Emmalee Freeman (double, two RBI) each produced three hits.
Athens Hudson (home run, four RBI), Emily Ferro (sac fly, three RBI), Anslee Logan (three RBI), Madelyn Johnson (triple, RBI), Alivia Fannin (double, four RBI), and Tatum Richardson (double, RBI) each contributed two hits on the day. Ahmani Green (home run, two RBI), Hailey Love (double, RBI), and Abbey Congrove each added one hit.
The losses dropped the Lady Tigers to 2-22 overall and 0-7 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
Georgia Highlands (15-10, 5-2) plays a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Cleveland State CC (TN).
