Excel Christian Academy wrestler Gabriel Gossett won the 215-pound weight class of the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools (GAPPS) state championships on January 30 at Cherokee Christian Schools to lead four Eagles who medaled at the tournament.

Excel’s Levi McMillan (157-pound weight class), Russell Jones (165-pound weight class), and Avery Honeycutt (285-pound weight class) each placed third. Colton Sims also represented the Eagles at the state championships.

Weather postponed the tournament from its original date, but the event featured over 100 wrestlers from across Georgia for the first time in GAPPS history.
