Hight's two-homer, six-RBI night leads Cass over Darlington
Cass softball won a non-region game over visiting Darlington Thursday night, 16-8.
Ansley Hight had four hits, including a pair of home runs, a double, and six RBIs for the Colonels. Rachael Lee also had four hits including three doubles and four RBIs.
Eryn Lee contributed three hits. Reese Howard had a pair of doubles with one RBI and Kelly Young added two hits with one RBI. Haylee Dishmon (RBI), Olivia Woods, and Alexis Woods had the other Cass hits.
With the win, Cass improved to 9-10 on the season and will host Class 6A Allatoona Saturday at 11 a.m.
LAFAYETTE 15, ADAIRSVILLE 0
LaFayette’s Ava Brown tossed a three inning, no-hitter and the Ramblers scored 15 runs on nine hits along with five Tigers’ errors.
LaFayette improved to 13-9 on the season and 11-4 in Region 6-AAA.
Adairsville falls to 6-16 on the season and finished 4-12 in region play.
CAMPBELL 6, WOODLAND 1
In a non-region game Thursday night at Hamilton Crossing Park, Campbell built a 5-1 lead by the third inning and held on to defeat Woodland 6-1.
Cassie Jones had two hits for Woodland. Dylynn Motes (double), Cambrie Carrington, and Peyton Dorn added one hit each for the Lady Cats.
Campbell improved to 12-11 on the season.
Woodland slips to 13-13-2.
