Hiram takes two Tuesday at Woodland
The Woodland girls and boys basketball teams both lost region games to visiting Hiram Tuesday night.
The Lady Cats fell to the 8th-ranked Lady Hornets 53-23 and the Wildcats dropped a 67-33 decision in the nightcap.
With their wins, the Hiram girls improved to 14-14 overall and 7-2 in region play. The Hiram boys are now 12-9 overall and finished 7-3 in region action. Both Hiram teams will be No. 2-seeds in next week’s Region 7-AAAAA tournament at Cartersville’s Storm Center.
Jordan Gary, Jayden Clark, and Walter Matthews led the Hiram boys Tuesday with 14, 13, and 12 points, respectively.
Alejandro Mays led Woodland with 11 points.
The Wildcats (3-19, 0-8) will host Blessed Trinity Wednesday and Cass Friday to close out the regular season. Girls games both nights begin at 6 p.m. with boys to follow.
