Hot bats lead Trion past Woodland

The visiting Trion Lady Bulldogs pounded out 17 hits and cruised to a 14-2 non-region win Wednesday night at Woodland.
The Lady Cats struggled for only three hits offensively and committed six errors in the loss.
Trion led 6-0 early, and after Woodland narrowed the margin to 6-2 in the bottom of the third, the Bulldogs added three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to secure the win.
Lillian Hollis had two hits for Woodland. Bella Kuykendall had one double and one RBI.
Kuykendall (5 IP, 9R, 6ER, 12H, 3BB, 4K) made the pitching start for the Lady Cats and was tagged with the loss. Rilynn DeBoard (1 IP, 5R, 1ER, 5H) also pitched for Woodland.
Trion improved to 6-3.
The Lady Cats (5-8, 2-4 Region 7-5A) travel to Cedartown on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. start, and will host Sonoraville on Tuesday.
