Hurricanes win at Kennesaw Mountain and Model

The Cartersville track and field teams won a tri-meet at Kennesaw Mountain High School Wednesday evening as they competed for the second consecutive night.

On Tuesday, the Cartersville boys won a nine-team meet at Model High School, and the Lady Canes were second to the host Lady Blue Devils in a seven-team competition.

At Kennesaw Mountain, the Cartersville girls scored 181 points. Woodstock was second with 156, and Kennesaw Mountain was third with 145.

The Canes scored 258 points at Kennesaw Mountain, followed by the host Mustangs with 207 and Woodstock with 97 points.

The Cartersville boys won the Model meet with 162.5 points. The hosts, Blue Devils (150) and Rome (91), rounded out the top three.

The Lady Canes finished 66 points behind Model, with Cherokee County (AL) placing third and seven points behind Cartersville.
