Lady Canes capture Region 7-AAAA volleyball crown

On Saturday afternoon at The Storm Center, the Cartersville High volleyball team emerged victorious in the Region 7-AAAA Championship tournament, defeating Allatoona in five sets in the championship match.
The Lady Buccaneers, who dispatched Dalton in the semifinals Saturday morning (25-19, 25-18), won the first two sets with Cartersville 25-23 and 25-17. The Lady Canes then rallied to win the final three sets 25-23, 25-21, and 15-9.
Amara Ejieke had 14 kills, three digs, and one block for Cartersville. Riley Huff had nine kills, five blocks, and one dig. Addison Marisko finished with eight kills, six blocks, and two aces. Holly Dufrene contributed four blocks. Mckenzie Wilkie produced four aces, 32 digs, six assists, and 41 service receptions. Emma Wall had four aces, eight digs, and 15 assists. Aubree Barrett added 17 digs and 22 assists.
Cartersville will host the first round of the Class 4A state tournament on Tuesday and will play Centennial, the No. 4 seed from Region 6-AAAA.
