Lady Canes extend win streak to eleven

Cartersville softball won its eleventh straight game Wednesday night, taking a 9-3 Region 7-4A win over visiting Southeast Whitfield.


The Lady Canes out-hit the Lady Raiders eleven to three and scored in five of their six offensive frames.


Zoie Shiflett collected the pitching win by working the first four innings in the circle. She allowed three runs (none earned) on three hits and one walk. She struck out three. Presley Crabbe did not yield a run, hit, or walk in the final three innings, while fanning six.


LaKiaya Banks (two doubles, sac fly, RBI), Sam Porter, and Taryn Bradley had two hits for Cartersville. Sophia Harper (sac fly, three RBI), Izzy Tummins (sac fly, two RBI), Shiflett (RBI), Addi Burns, and Miley Jo Williams added one hit each.


Southeast Whitfield dropped to 7-16 overall and 3-14 in Region 7-4A.


Cartersville (22-2, 15-2) plays at Allatoona on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
