Lady Canes fall to Pace Academy in the state semifinals

Cartersville volleyball's state playoff run ended on Saturday with a loss to Pace Academy in the Class 4A state semifinals at Seckinger High School in Buford.
The Lady Canes fell in four sets in the best-of-five format.
Pace Academy won the opening set 25-18, but Cartersville evened the match by taking the second set 25-22. The Knights wrapped up their victory by winning the third and fourth sets by identical 25-20 scores.
The Knights improved to 35-7 on the season and will face Marist for the Class 4A state championship on Thursday at LakePoint in Emerson.
Cartersville's season ends with a 44-7 mark.
