Lady Canes finish series sweep of Murray County

The Lady Canes completed a two-game series sweep of Murray County on Monday evening in Chatsworth, winning 7-1.
It was the second meeting for the two teams in three days. Cartersville edged Murray 1-0 on Saturday.
On Monday, Cartersville took a 3-0 lead with single runs in the first, third, and fourth innings. After the Indians narrowed the margin to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Cartersville put the game away with a four-run sixth inning.
Presley Crabbe (7 IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 3BB, 9K) was the winning pitcher for the Lady Canes.
LaKiaya Banks paced the Cartersville offense with three hits, including one double and three RBI. Sam Porter (triple, two RBI) and Taryn Bradley had two hits. Kinsey Woodard (home run, two RBI), Sophia Harper, and Carder Brock added one hit.
Murray County fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Cartersville (6-0, 2-0) visits Woodland for a Region 7-4A game on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
