Lady Canes gymnastics team closes out 2022 campaign

The Cartersville High School gymnastics team placed third out of four competing schools in the Class 5A and under division in a season-ending meet April 12 at The Lovett School.

All three of the Canes competitors placed inside the top 10 in the all-around event.

Karley Garrison led the Canes with a third-place finish. Her All Around score was 34.35. Garrison was runner-up on the floor (9.05) and finished fourth on the bars (8.5).

Jayla Byrd's 30.65 score was good for a seventh place standing in the all-around competition. She earned a fifth place finish in floor exercise with a score of 8.7.

Annaston Wilson finished 10th with 28.5 points. Wilson's high score came in the floor exercise with an 8.3.
