Lady Canes' volleyball extends win streak to eleven heading into Hilton Head tourney

Cartersville volleyball won two matches this past Thursday over a pair of quality opponents, defeating Campbell in three sets, 25-10, 23-25, 15-5, and North Paulding, 25-21, 25-21.
The two wins extended the Lady Canes' current win streak to eleven.
In the three-set victory over the Spartans, Jada Zimmerman paced the front line with 15 kills, two blocks, and one dig. Amara Ejieke had six kills, six digs, two aces, and one block. Holly Dufrene finished with five kills and two blocks. Blakely Morris contributed three kills, three blocks, and one dig. Mckenzie Wilkie totaled 16 digs and two assists. Emma Wall had 20 assists.
Against North Paulding, Ejieke had six kills and three blocks. Dufrene had five kills. Morris finished with four kills, four blocks, and four digs. Jada Zimmerman contributed three kills. Riley Huff produced three blocks. Addie Rickman added four blocks and one assist. Wilkie had nine digs and one assist. Adelynn England totaled seven digs and one assist. Wall and Aubree Barrett added nine and six assists, respectively.
Cartersville (28-5, 6-1 in Region 7-4A) travels to the 14th annual Island Bash in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on Thursday through Saturday. The Lady Canes will have pool matches against Alpharetta (GA), Bridges Prep (SC), and Riverside (SC), along with three matches in bracket play.
CASS DROPS HOME MATCHES
The Lady Colonels lost two home matches on Thursday, falling to Rockmart 11-25, 6-25, and to Marietta in a straight-sets decision.
Cass (2-25, 0-7 Region 7-4A) travels to Pickens on Thursday for a 5 p.m. start.
WOODLAND FALLS IN NON-REGION ACTION
The Lady Cats lost two matches in Jasper this past Thursday, falling to Union County 13-25, 13-25, and Pickens 17-25, 17-25. Izzy Hazelwood totaled 11 assists and 10 digs for Woodland. Aby Childs contributed five kills and four digs. Bella King contributed three kills and four blocks. Alex Williams had eight digs, three blocks, two kills, and two aces. Reese Martinak added five kills.
Woodland (9-24, 1-6 Region 7-4A) hosts its Senior Night on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against Excel Christian Academy.
ADAIRSVILLE LOSES AT SONORAVILLE
The Lady Tigers lost a non-region match at Sonoraville on Thursday, 19-25, 24-26.
Adairsville (8-23, 2-6) hosts Coosa on Monday at 6 p.m.
