Lady Canes volleyball takes two of three

Cartersville volleyball won two of three matches Saturday playing at Sonoraville High School.

The Lady Canes edged the host Phoenix 25-23 and 25-23; defeated LaFayette 25-19 and 25-15; but lost to Kell 25-20 and 25-16.

Ailee England had nine kills and Addison Marisko had five kills in the Cartersville win over Sonoraville. Riley Jarrett had six aces and Aubree Barrett added 16 assists.

In the win over LaFayette, England totaled 10 kills. Holly Dufrene and Marisko followed with six and five kills, respectively. McKenzie Wilkie contributed 10 digs and Barrett added 19 assists.

In the loss to Kell, Dufrene had seven kills. England finished with five kills and eight digs. Riley Huff had five blocks. Wilkey contributed eight digs and Barrett added 15 assists.

Cartersville (15-9) begins Region 7-5A play Tuesday at home against Calhoun and Woodland starting at 5:30 p.m.
