Lady Canes win 30th, stay unbeaten in region

Cartersville volleyball won twice at Woodland on Tuesday night, defeating the host Lady Cats 3-0 (25-10, 25-11, 25-7) in a Region 7-5A match and topping East Paulding (25-15, 25-11) in two straight sets.

The wins lifted the Lady Canes to 30-3 overall and 5-0 in region play.  Woodland slipped to 7-20 overall and 2-3 in region action.

Woodland plays at Pickens on Thursday and will take on host Allatoona and Pebblebrook on Tuesday.

Cartersville hosts North Cobb and region foe Villa Rica on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.

LADY TIGERS DROP ROAD REGION MATCHES

Adairsville volleyball fell to host Northwest Whitfield and Calhoun on Tuesday in Region 7-4A matches.

The Tigers lost 25-23, 25-19 to the host Bruins and also lost in two straight sets to Calhoun.

Adairsville hosts Coosa and Gordon Central on Thursday at 5 p.m. and will play Southeast Whitfield and host Heritage-Catoosa on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Ringgold.

CASS LOSES TWO AT VILLA RICA

The Lady Colonels lost to host Villa Rica (25-17, 25-11, 25-17) in a Region 7-5A contest and lost 25-11, 25-20 to Alexander on Tuesday night, remaining winless on the season.

Cass (0-25, 0-5) plays at Paulding County on Thursday and hosts Dalton and Cherokee on Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m.
