Lady Canes win slugfest at Adairsville

Cartersville and host Adairsville went back-and-forth with leads Monday night and combined for 29 hits but it was the Lady Canes pulling out an 11-10 non-region win.
Jordan Bishop had three hits, one RBI, and stole three bases to help lead the Cartersville attack. Allana Williams also had three hits including two doubles and one RBI for the Canes. Kennedy Crenshaw (double, two RBIs), Erin McCrary (four RBIs), and LaKiaya Banks (two RBIs) followed with two hits apiece. Addi Burns, Miley Jo Williams, and Taryn Bradley added one hit each.
Kennedy Stevens (3 IP, 8R, 7ER, 7H, 3BB, 1K), Zoie Shiflett (1.1 IP, 1ER, 4H, 1K), and Banks (2.2 IP, 1ER, 3H, 2BB) all pitched for the Hurricanes.
Alissa Winters had three hits including a double and two RBIs for Adairsville. Katie Anglian also finished with three hits. Taylor Evans (two doubles, two RBIs), Chelsea Bates (RBI), Brie Patterson (double, two RBIs), and Riley Mounger (RBI) all contributed two hits. Ashlyn Carlton and Ashlynn Durden added one hit apiece for the Tigers.
Jordan Clay (2 IP, 8R, 0ER, 6H, 3K), Carlton (3 IP, 2ER, 4H, 2K), and Madison Baker (2 IP, 1ER, 3H) all pitched for Adairsville.
9th-ranked Cartersville (12-5, 8-1) returns to Region 7-5A play Tuesday at 7th-ranked Calhoun. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Adairsville (2-13, 1-7) hosts Ringgold Thursday in Region 6-AAA action.
