Lady Canes win two on Tuesday

Cartersville volleyball defeated McEachern (25-6, 25-13) and Jonesboro (25-21, 25-12) Tuesday evening in the Storm Center and improved to 37-6 heading into postseason play.

The Lady Canes will open the Region 7-4A playoffs on October 7 against Woodland at Allatoona High School. The tournament will continue on October 9 and 11.

In other action, Cass (2-28) lost Tuesday to Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, 25-12 and 25-1, in a match played at Kell High School. Next for the Lady Colonels is the Region 7-4A tournament at Allatoona.

Adairsville (9-27) dropped matches on Tuesday to Gilmer (25-15, 25-5) and Northwest Whitfield (25-13, 25-14). 

Rihanna Critendon had two kills and two blocks against Gilmer. Myka Colston had two kills and Nadelyn Dodson added four digs. In the loss to Northwest Whitfield, Olivia O’Tinger finished with three kills. Savannah Viktora, Alexis Scott, and Ella Steward had two kills. Teaghan Myers and Dodson contributed eight digs.

Adairsville hosts North Murray and Gordon Central on Thursday starting at 5 p.m.
